POSITION SUMMARYBenedictine College invites applications from kinesiology and exercise science fields to apply for a full-time position in the rapidly growing Health, Wellness, and Exercise Science Department.
This Assistant or Associate Professor position starts in August 2024.
Main responsibilities pertaining to teaching:
Tests and Measurements (pertaining to Exercise Science and related fields)Wellness for LifeTechnique of Sport (individual or team) Foundations of Human MovementOther potential courses to teach:
Physical Education curriculum (primary and secondary)Adaptive Physical EducationFitness courses (such as:
Beginning Gymnastics, Weightlifting, Dance Classes, etc.
)Health Promotion and Leadership Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSResponsibilities include:
Teaching 12 credits of classes per academic semesterActively participate in Department meetings and growth planning Serve as an academic advisor to Department majors and minorsEngage in appropriate faculty service.
Be willing to engage in course development for emerging skillsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate should hold a master's or terminal degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or associated fields.
Doctorate degree preferred.
Experience in a professional field strongly encouraged.
Prior teaching experience highly desirable, but not required.
Individuals with a personal and professional growth mindset are encouraged to apply.
